Why aren't there more Rizzoli & Isles/Crossing Jordan crossovers? Both shows are set in Boston. Both shows have awesome Medical Examiners. Both shows have characters named Hoyt (one good; one evil.) So many avenues to explore. I want to read crossovers!! But there are only 2 on fanfiction.net, and they're not bad, they're just not what I want to read. Someone needs to make this happen.

i guess what all this boils down to is that i really have too many feelings about tv shows in general and this show in particular. i actually had about 3 more points i wanted to touch on, but it is now 5:38pm and my shows start at 8pm and i have to work at 10:45pm. i'm really kind of an idiot when it comes to my priorities... naptime!!!

i am so over all of the hate that gets directed at angie harmon. it seriously makes me mad. yes, she is a republican. but you know what she's not? a racist. you know what else she's not? a homophobe. republican is not synonymous with racist/homophobe. are there a lot of racist and homophobic republicans? sure. but you know what? there are a lot of racist and homophobic democrats, as well. hatred of that magnitude, where you hate entire groups of people who were born that way... that goes far beyond the scope of politics. i hate it when people from either party try and lump all members of the "opposing" party into the same one-dimensional category. we are all human beings before we're anything else and both sides need to start seeing that. the whole mudslinging aspect of politics (in candidates, and in the population as a whole) is disgusting.
this rant brought to you by...
1. watching a "crime fighters" panel video with actors from various crime shows, and hearing angie harmon say, "i'm sure if you've ever heard my name, you've heard 'eww' after it."
2. making the mistake of getting sucked into the comments section of a random rizzoli & isles forum.

i'm home sick from work and i feel really blah right now. my stomach is queasy :( i've been lounging on my couch all day, except for when i spilled my ginger ale all over the cushions and had to migrate to my bed. so i decided to be as productive with my day as i could be. which is a totally false statement that means i spent a considerable amount of time alternately watching episodes of 'rizzoli & isles' and rediscovering my love of rizzoli/isles fan fics. i decided it would be fun to dig through the piles of shit on fanfiction.net until i found solid writing. and i found it! there is actually some really well-written stuff on there. you just have to wade through all the ridiculous crap. and! i finally figured out why it never showed me anything above a PG-13. apparently i had the default setting on to only show me G - PG-13. or K - T. their rating system is stupid. why is it the same as video games instead of the same as movies? oh, but i guess they banned "MA" stuff. bummer. i guess i could also check out what they have to offer in the way of ben/leslie... although, that's what caused me to become disinterested in jane & maura in the first place. i'm gonna stick with the girls on this fanfic.net treasure hunt. this is a really long post of nothingness, really...

Yes, and it will be an extremely hot load of bullshit if Amy Poehler does not win. Like, I want Parks and Rec to win best comedy so badly, but I'll understand if Modern Family wins (which it more than likely will) because it's a hilarious comedy. Laura Linney is not a comedy actress. She is a dramedy actress, and the fact that she (and Edie Falco) are even in the same category as Amy Poehler is just ridiculous. She and Edie Falco are brilliant in their roles and absolutely deserving of awards, just not Best Actress in a Comedy. I really want to believe that the award will be given to the actress who best fits the name of the category, but I'm doubtful. Dear Emmy voters, please do the right thing!
It's possible I'm too invested in these types of things...
